Overview

A full-time professor of one of the leading universities was given the project of converting the financials of the university into a readable and editable format.

Challenge

The client had at least a dozen files to be converted everyday to deliver the project on time. These PDF files consisted of multiple tables with each cell with value in decimals that had to be extracted from them.

Implementation

Using a pdf to excel convertor, the files were converted to excel. However, since the client wanted manual entry each sheet of excel went through a process of multiple checks. Every resource allocated to the team had a responsibility of scanning the sheets, parsing the sheets and extract them to excel as the outcome. For the trial run, there were at least 3 resources used as the data entered and extracted needed extra assurance of correctness.
